We are members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church who believe that we are living in the last days. We expect the outpouring of the later rain and the Holy Spirit “upon all flesh” (Acts 2:17), on every son and daughter of God (v. 18).
We believe that the Holy Spirit, as the Word of God states, will be outpoured upon all the children of God, regardless of gender. That includes the gift of pastorate (Eph. 4:11).
Ordination is the “a public recognition of the divine appointment to bear the glad tidings of the gospel” (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 131). And God chooses people through His Holy Spirit regardless gender. Therefore, by ordaining women who have been called by God, we are indeed acknowledging and affirming the call that God have made.
